The Study On Comparison Of Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method And Evaluation Standard For Green Building

With the environmental problem and energy source problem becoming increasingly urgent, Green building assessment system, as the comprehensive evaluation methodology of both building environmental quality and load, was developed rapidly. It has significant reference meaning in improving and refining the ESGB by comparing and analyzing it with BREEAM.Firstly, in accordance with the comparative analysis of representative assessment standards around the world, BREEAM and ESGB are discussed in depth in this paper.The comparison between BREEAM and ESGB starts from the respects of their backgrounds, development processes, frameworks, assessment scopes/object,methodology, scoring and rating, certification process, market application and so on.Then, this paper focuses on comparing between BREEAM and ESGB horizontally, especially on comparing the similarities and differences of key performance indicator and weighting. Combining with BREEAM assessment project,the basic relationship of their key performance indicators is established. The differences found between two assessing standards would be analyzed. The reason why key performance indicators and contents are different would also be recognized and used for reference. In terms of the technology level of key performance indicators,this paper has performed the statistical analysis for the credit frequency indicator of key performance indicators and their sensibilities of BREEAM certified projects. The relative reasons will be explained and corresponding solution will be put forward.And it can make contribution to enhancing and adjusting the ESGB in the future.Last but not least, based on what has been mentioned above, this paper specifically brings up with some suggestion to the development of ESGB, which helps to form the best green building assessing methodology suitable for our national conditions.
