Study On The Sustainability And Environmental Performance Assessment Of Green Sports Building

Highlighting the green promises of"Green Olympics, High-tech Olympics, People's Olympics", Beijing has succeeded in gaining the right of holding the 29th Olympics in 2008. The success has brought a new opportunity for the development of China's sports industry as well as sports building. But as a special public building, the sports building consumes a great deal of energy and pollutes environment badly. While"Sustainable Development"has become global strategy of coordinated development of human and nature, green becomes an inevitable tendency of sports building's development. So it has practical significance to study on sustainable green sports building and assess its environmental performance.The principles that green sports building should follow are reducing environmental load and the amount of the utilized resource and energy. It emphasizes harmoniousness of architecture and environment. Started with green building's concept, the necessity for developing green building is analyzed and its design rules are summarized. On the basis of that, the architecture of green sports building technology is presented according to the design idea of sports building and green building,. And sustainable utilization of green sports building is explored on resource, environment, energy-saving, after-use and so on. Then green design for manufacturing is referred to. Based on life cycle, green design for sports building is pointed out. At last, by using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method, assessment model is built and environmental performance in design phase of green sports building is assessed.Green sports building is a new concept of building, which is based on traditional sports building and absorbs some reasonable ideas of green building. Having been researched and analyzed, Design for Environment Assessment(DfEA) is applied to a real engineering project, which proves the practicality of DfEA. All in all, it's necessary to build the assessment system of green sports building by using the sustainable development idea. And it has important meaning for promoting energy sustainability in buildings, sustainable utilization of sports building and other public buildings'development.
