As science and technology keep advancing and the consumption of cars ever-increasing, the automobile industry has developed quite mature. On the one handautomobiles have improved living standards, but on the other hand they have causedpollution to the environment. Due to their environmental friendliness, electric automobilesbecome the favor of most people. With a variety of driving systems, the structures of theelectric automobiles are complex. And of these driving systems, wheel motor drivingsystem is preferred mostly, so its study is crucial to the development of electric vehicles.Wheel hub motor is loaded on the wheel hub so as to drive wheels directly rather thanmechanically. The wheel hub motor is designed with less additional parts. And it is notonly lighter but also more simplified in structure.This project centers on studying the wheel motor of the electric automobile. Theexisting reduction structure is replaced by the harmonic gear retarding mechanism so as todesign a wheel hub motor with both harmonic gear retarding mechanism and external rotorelectric machine. ANSYS is used in the study and analysis of main parts of flexible gears,several different structures of flexible gears are studied, the influences of the equivalentstress and strain under different structures of flexible gears are analyzed, and the sizes ofthe element are calculated out after the structure design of the harmonic reducer arecompleted.According to the main parameters of the motor, the structure model is established.Ansoft is used in the study of the no-load magnetic field. Magnetic induction intensitydistribution and distribution of equipotential line are mainly analyzed. Then the analysis iscarried out on the basis of the mathematical model of brushless dc motor and by usingMATLAB. Thus, motor speed curves and phase current waveform are calculated out andthen compared with the actual measurement results to verify the rationality of the motorstructure.
