According to the requirements of Flight Simulation, a visual simulation system,suitable for Hypersonic, satellite and UAV, is designed in the thesis. Besides, it alsoputs forward an innovative project, which gives a detailed introduction about thefunctional performance, overall architecture and interface style, based on the surveyof research situation of this area in domestic an overseas.For a good expansibility of the system, the thesis chooses a professional3Dmodeling software,3ds MAX, as the unique tool to create vehicle models,guaranteeing the modeling precision as well as the working efficiency. In order to loadthe different3D models to our application program, an intelligent module is added,that is designed on the basis of3ds-file analysis.Aiming at meeting the different requirements of variable vehicles, the thesisadopts OpenGL API to develop diverse flight environments, including starry sky andearth scene, suited to satellite, airport, mountain and ocean, suited to UAV, near spacescene and sky, suited to hypersonic. Different environment refers to differenttechnologies, which cover Flat-chain texture, ocean-box texture, sphere texture, pointtexture and Vertex Array.To simulate the special effects produced in the flight process of aircraft, such asflame and explosion effect, a flame effect of scramjet engine and an explosion effectof crashing of aircrafts are introduced. As a result, the system has a big improvementin the simulation.The system has been developed into pragmatic software with the latest VisualC++development tools, MFC. In addition, some practical and assistant functions arealso added for the integrality of the software. First, network communication interfaceis realized by Socket. Second, database is built for data playback function on the basisof MySQL. Third, data display function, including screen-display and dynamicsimulation curve, is accomplished by OpenGL and TeeChart. Finally,Two-dimensional track is developed with Windows GDI.
