| At present,there are only two ways to exhibition the results of bridge design.They are effect-image and 3D animation.Both of them are not real time, dynamic and interactive.However, the technology of visual simulation can just resolve such a problem.The System of visual simulation for bridges uses the actual data of bridge design to precisely reproduce its 3D model.In such a system,the user can control his viewpoint,line of sight,and the move speed of the viewpoint by himself. At real time, the system computes and generates the picture that will be shown on the screen.The technology of visual simulation provides a effective way to visually demonstrate the result of bridge design.The author designed a software by ObjectARX to automatically make the 3D model of a bridge,and also designed a software of Visual Simulation by OpenGL, which can realize the free roaming interactively and roaming along a prearranged routeing automatically. These two softwares constitute a visual simulation system for bridges.This paper introduces the idea of programming and key technologies of this visual simulation system. In addition, it introduces how to use this system by giving a sample.In the end,the paper appraises the result of this research and pointed out its shortage.Some suggestions for improving this system and further study are present in this paper as well. |
