So far, many of the existing sheet-pile wharfs in our country have served fordecades, with varying degrees of damage. This requires study of the form and forceand its changes over time for existing sheet-pile wharfs. Plenty of results are achievedon the bearing capacity deterioration of old or damaged structures and thefinite-element simulations. The summary and derivations of these results can providethe mathematical relationship between material damage, its deterioration and time, according to which the form and force of the existing sheet-pile wharf based on therate of material damage and its deterioration can be studied.Based on the theories of corrosion cracking of reinforced concrete structures, atwo-dimensional space model of a simplified sheet-pile wharf with single anchor wasbuilt, with contact pairs to simulate the soil-pile interaction. The study of the form andforce for sheet pile wall and its changes over time was based on the parameters fordeterioration of mechanical properties of corroded steel bars, which was deducedfrom the corrosion rate of steel bars. A series of results were found, including the timevarying changes of the sheet pile deformation, the strain of steel bar, the strain andstress of concrete of important area and its development of cracks. This paperprovides a new method to know more about the influence of deterioration ofstructures to the bearing capacity of sheet-pile wharf, and can be the basis for optimaldesign and the servicing or relegating of sheet-pile wharf.
