This paper mainly studied the computing methods of flat slab floor belongingplate-column structures. This issue was put forward by some Optimization ofStructural Design Consulting Firm according to the encountered actual problemswhich aimed to guide real design better.Following works had been done to detail this paper:1.The historical and current situation were inspected and documents werecollected about flat slab floor including the theories and experiments in academic,engineering data, standards of foreign countries, some information in the process ofChinese-designing.2. Economic analysis was performed among different forms of floor structures,mainly taking cross beam, rood beam, one-way slab with single beam, two-way slabwith double beams, large panel structure, and flat slab floor into account.Reinforcement design and cost computing were undertaken based on real project andcomparison of which were performed among different structure forms.3. In the practical engineering, empirical coefficients method, equivalent framemethod and finite element method are usually used to compute flat slab floor. Thetheoretical basis, modeling approach of flat slab floor were labored and results werecompared in this paper.4. Parametric analysis was carried out on the flat slab floor, analyzing the factorsof effecting internal forces. Results showed that column grid size, cap size, thicknessof flat, thickness of covering soil become the mainly factors.5. Finely modeling was carried on by Abaqus taking plastic internal forceredistribution into account and reinforcement stresses were got, based on whichdrawing up test plan were put forward.The following conclusion can be reached by forementioned work:1. The studies in foreign countries were conducted in early days which possesseda lot of engineering practice, but our country got behind in terms of design methodaiming to self-reliant design about flat slab floor which would not consider elastic andplastic analysis.2. That economic analysis among common floor, cross beam, rood beam,one-way slab with single beam, two-way slab with double beams, large panelstructure, and flat slab floor were conducted showed that flat slab floor is the most economical in the same external conditions. Moreover, the advantage gets moreobviously with the increase of external loads.3. There were a lot of design method but numerous troubles were producedwhich disturbed the engineers as an unified conclusion can not be reached.4. Column grid size and load had an obviously effect on the internal forces of flatslab floor, which belonged to the dominated factor.5. Elastic-plastic analysis was adopt which can take advantage of materialstrength and make the design more economical on the premise of ensuring the safety.
