The construction of affordable housing is a great matter of concerning national economy and people’s livelihood. In this paper, it is studied on the slab-wall system of the affordable housing. The slab-wall system is widely used in high-rise structure, which has plate system to replace the conventional beam—slab system for larger architectural space. while in the system.there are some disadvantages, such as large slab spans, irregular bearing of shear walls, and non-uniform loads by partition walls. Under such situations, the floor slabs lies in complex supporting conditions. It is essential to get further analysis on the bearing capacity of the floor under the vertical loads.First of all, select a typical model of the slab-wall system, and summarize several plates of typical bearing conditions from the whole model. And then the finite element analysis has been carried out on the whole model. Based on the the analysis with the slab-wall system, this paper get the mechanic characteristics and rules of the stress distribution and the floor stress with different thickness.Secondly, two typically nodes are obtained by cutting cross section in the whole model, which are for the elastic and elastic-plastic analysis. After the analysis, it can get the peak stress, the node displacement and the stress of the slab. With coMParison, the stress peak value of elastic-plastic state is a sharp fall in elastic state. Finally, considering the overall model of slab reinforcement design, one of the method is to calculate the reinforcement under simplified conditions in three regions, such as central case boards, shear wall openings and wallboard joints. Another method is using the normal section stress of reinforcement method of reinforcement for three typical areas. CoMParing with two methods, this paper can obtain a factor for adjustment on reinforcement. The proposed method for the slab-wall system is the former, but the adjusted factor should be considered.
