In recent years,with economic development and application for the list of worldheritage, the importance of our natural and cultural heritage also has been paid moreattention. However, currently the basis of theoretical research about heritageprotection is still lagging behind, and ideological, theoretical system is in disorder.As the international heritage protection standards were rooted in the local communitybecause of the lack of theoretical positions, a series of unfavorable memories of ourtraditional ways and values of the phenomenon came into being.In this context, ways of the development of Chinese scenic heritage are summarizedand the bias of the value is combed, after that we can get a new understanding of thetraditional conservation practice.In the paper, the statistics and analysis of the literature, multidisciplinary visionanalysis, case studies and other research methods are used. Mainly for two majorissues:(A)Firstly, a comprehensive view of production and development of scenicspots in the traditional society. The initial development of scenic nature of their initialmotivation is discussed and classified as nature worship, worship sages landscapeaesthetic and the other reason,these four categories. To get a overview traditionalsociety to protect the scenic phenomenon to observe its protection philosophy bias.(B)Secondly,based on the classic scenic spots–development of West Lake developmentto spy on Chinese heritage conservation and heritage traditional practices. The historyof governance activities of the West Lake water system is a conservation behavior,and its landscape pattern formation has played a tremendous impact. Meanwhile asthe important composition of landscape pattern, Baidi, Sudi, and Three PoolsMirroring the Moon, their interpretation of the development process of change and therebuilding,collapse of Leifeng Pagoda for several times embodies the characteristicsof China’s traditional concept of inheritance.
