Since the1980’s, with the rapid development of transportation industry, the number ofthe reinforced concrete bridge engineering in China has growing by leaps and bounds. Withthe increasing age of existing bridges, the problems of internal defects of the reinforcedconcrete bridge could be more serious, therefore, the safety, applicability, durability of thebridge. So, it is necessary to study on the disease of existing bridges and the managementand maintenance works focus on monitoring and evaluation. With the development of technique of nondestructive detect, the internal defects of thelarge volume concrete structure become reality. Because the technics of nondestructivedetection and effective evaluation be used into the existing reinforced concrete bridges, theremain load capacity of the bridge could be estimated accuracy. With the better use ofexisting bridges, it also could be meaningful for saving the social resources and protectingenvironment. In this dissertation, according to the research objectives, the following three aspectshave been done: Firstly, the survey of Guangdong Province highway concrete bridgeinternal defects has been done and the survey report has been finished; Secondly, based oninternal defect of structural component function, the evaluation criterion has been studied;Thirdly, the guidelines and evaluation criteria or non-destructive detection technology ofconcrete bridge internal defects have been initially formed. The operability and availabilityof this dissertation’s achievements have been approved through the engineering practice.
