The gas turbine driven compressor unit is the key equipment of thenatural gas pipeline. Carrying on study about the performance andmaintenance of gas turbine driven compressor unit is of great significance.Using simulation to calculate gas turbine unit’s performance can shorten thetest cycle and low down the cost. The history operating data can reflect thepast state of unit, which can be used to verify the accuracy of the model. Thehistory fault data of the unit can sometimes be used to predict remaining lifeof certain parts, so as to provide help for maintenance work. So this papermainly focuses on the simulation of LM2500gas turbine driven compressor,also on analysis of fault data as well as maintenance work, the main points inthis paper are listed as follows:(1) Using modular modeling approach, the module libraryincluding compressor module, combustion module, turbine module, rotormodule, volume module and PID module are built on Matlab/Simulink platform. Gas compressor module is also built as the load of gas turbine. Thedynamic simulation model of gas turbine driven compressor unit wasestablished.(2) After confirming the accuracy of system model, we calculatethe characteristics of variable condition and analyze the dynamic responsecharacteristics in some typical conditions of step change.(3) Based on this operating data of each part of gas turbine, amodel to calculate gas turbine’s performance is established. According toresult, efficiency of turbine unit and compressor efficiency degraded largelyas working time accumulates. In order to evaluate efficiency downgradescientifically, Shewhart Control Chart is applied to compressor performanceevaluation. The results showed that: control chart can reflect the changes ofgas turbine performance; control chart determines the unit’s workingcondition and provides help for gas turbine maintenance.(4) A study on the use of spare parts for certain compressionstation is conducted. It reveals that the damage of filter element is the mainissue of the lubrication system. Based on those historical fault data, an lifemodel for filter element is set up based on Weibull Distribution Function.Some maintenance advice for lubrication system is also proposed.This thesis can be functioned to analyze the dynamic response characteristics of gas turbine driven compressor, and lays a foundation forfurther studies of maintenance strategy. Thus it is of strong reference for thesafe and economic operation of gas station.
