An important purpose of network reliability assessment is to find theweakness in power supply, providing decision-making basis for thecorresponding improvement measures. The sensitivity of transmissionnetwork reliability against component parameters can sensitively reflectthe changes in the levels and trends of power supply reliability due tocomponent’s parameter variation. These sensitivities can help find thebottlenecks that suppress system reliability, on the other hand help fastapproximate calculation of reliability indices after component’s parametervariation, so as to facilitate the formulation and comparison of reliabilityoptimization plans. With increasingly importance of the economy intransmission network construction, transmission network reliabilityoptimization through component’s sensitivity analysis can easily getoptimization plan considering both reliability and economy, offeringscientific references to the construction or renovation of weak part, achieving maximum efficiency within limited funds.Firstly, paper studies method to calculate sensitivities of transmissionnetwork, establishes models that analysis sensitivities of transmissionnetwork reliability against components’ reliability parameters and capacity,deduces first-order and second-order sensitivity formula. At the same tineestablishes common mode failure sensitivity formula of paralleltransmission line considering the actual situation of transmission network.Then, Paper defines normalized sensitivity to sort components intransmission network in order to find bottlenecks of power supplyreliability. For specific component, paper proposes construction andrenovation plans to improve the reliability of the transmission network.Combined with reliability cost-benefit evaluation method, evaluate eachplan’s cost and improvement of power supply reliability quantitatively toselect the optimal solution.Finally, a certain area in East China is studied to demonstrate theeffectiveness of the research.
