Land Mixed-use is is widespread of cities, not only adapting to the industrialstructural adjustment, but also promoting the sustainability of the city. Land Mixed-useis an effective means to protect urban vitality and improve the utilization of the cityland.The main form which the planning and management by the single land use of ourcountry is effective in the control of land but is lack of the response effectively to themixed-used of the land, to cause wasting of the land resources and functional imbalance.Therefore, the issue of mixed-use of the city is very important.The essay deals with Land Mixed-use of the new urban area, with the surveys andstudies of the first part and the second part of Xi’an High-tech Industrial DevelopmentZone,to reveal the inherent logic and rules of Land Mixed-use of the city. Exploringuseful patterns and ideas of urban land using, to deal with the problem of theinadequate in city establishment and management. The thesis consists of following fourParts. Part1describes the background, makes some definition, systematically summedtheoretical results and practical experience in Land Mixed-use at home and abroad. Andpart2comes up with the overall situation of Xi’an High-tech Industrial DevelopmentZone by contrasting the gravity, the main function, the number of mixed function, sizeand degree of mixing of different sections, and analyzing the factors. Part3analysis anddescribes the relationship between the different features, land-use mix level and theform of the Land Mixed-use in Commercial land and residential land. Part4is made bythe methods and ideas in planning and management, functional organization, spatialplanning of Land Mixed-use.The purpose is exploring the practical ways and solutions to the land mixed-use, providing the reference and basis for urban planning andmanagement and also increasing urban vitality.
