The socket-type template supporting system stands as a new structure, and it waswidely used in engineering application, while the research on its bearing capacity wasstill in infancy. By comparing the similarities and differences between socket-type withfastener tubular steel scaffold and cup-lock steel scaffold, considered that thesocket-type scaffold was similar to the fastener tubular steel scaffold, while its axialforce state was quite similar to the cup-lock steel scaffold. Given the study on thefastener, the cup-lock and the bolt steel scaffold were quite skillful, the study on thesocket scaffold would widely reference the methods and research results of fastener,cup-lock and bolt-type template supporting system.We developed tests on the safety of socket-type template supporting system, theresearch contents as follows: loading vertical force on the unit frame erected bysocket-type component, during the loading progress measured the displacement in Xand Y direction of the unit frame, the mechanical responses of each component werealso measured. Recorded the data when damage occurs, and ultimately got the unstablemodes according to the analysis of the measured data, then analyzed the initial defectfactors which influence the carrying capacity of the frame, and last proposed thesecurity technology solutions of the socket-type scaffold.To know the performance of the socket-type template supporting system clearly,firstly the article carried four load performance tests on its basic mechanical unit,recorded the deformation development, failure load and failure mode during the test,obtained the ultimate bearing capacity and buckling mode of the four; secondly carrieda measurement of mixed scaffold consist of socket-type and fastener steel pipe frame formwork-support on field, through the test can clarify its superiority in application;lastly made a numerical analysis of the basic mechanical test-piece and the practicalframe with the finite element analysis software ANSYS.We can draw the following conclusions through the research:(1)The ultimate bearing capacity was higher when the socket-type unit with smallpoling vertical and horizontal space and bigger rail plug wedge tightness, and theultimate bearing capacity was lower when the socket-type unit with large poling verticaland horizontal space and small rail plug wedge tightness; the influence degree of the railplug wedge tightness to the bearing capacity depends on the vertical bar space, theimpact was more obvious with the larger space.(2)The rail plug in the socket-type template supporting system became looserduring the loading process, the socket-type template supporting system was unable tocarry load when the sliding out occurs, so in the practical application we should use thelimit pin to prevent the rail plug sliding out.(3)In numerical analysis the model can fitting with the socket frame better usefinite element analysis software ANSYS, so we can use the model to analyze thesocket-type template supporting system before its application.
