The infrastructure of hospital-based services in Xi’an is becoming increasinglymature, more and more patients and staff need to relax and have a rest in the outdoorspace to release the pressure. Humane design of the outdoor space is imperative.Hospital outdoor space is designed in accordance with the appropriate design, whichcan help patients make full recovery and to help hospital staff to relieve stress. Fromthe reality of the human senses, the author intends to make outdoor space design morehumane.Through the psychological factors which related to domestic and foreign authorsin a hospital space for outdoor learning design application instance data,and a detailedsurvey of the major general hospital in Xi’an,the author has made a comprehensivereview of the current situation of general hospitals in Xi’an outdoor landscape. Alsofrom various perspective such as behavioral psychology, environmental psychology,sensory and psychological, the outdoor space of general hospitals in Xi’an wereanalyzed. As a result, the author has made the general conclusion of the majorproblem which general hospitals in Xi’an as following, Summed up the generalhospital in Xi’an major problems exist: the unreasonable overall planning, green is low,the irrational outdoor space, green facilities in the form of old, outdoor landscape lackof user-helpful design, the existing green space usage is not high, outdoor space, publicfacilities are not well maintained, traffic organization relationships unreasonable. Foroutdoor space features comprehensive hospital environment design: Nature of specialservices for the population, diversified services, the pursuit of nature, the special need of the site. Summarizes the basic principlesof hospital outdoor space design: The main design principles practicality,environmental, emotional, openness, sharing, artistic. In the end, the author summedup design approach for comprehensive hospital in Xi’an outdoor landscape, combinedwith the actual project details application of these design methods described in practice,as well as the research points out the need to be further research direction.Conclusion Analysis, the author recognize the importance of Maslow’s hierarchyof needs, the significance of environmental psychology at the hospital outdoor spacedesign, and the importance of psychological elements of the outdoor space in thehospital design. In terms of environmental consciousness, visual stimulation, Physicaland psychological needs of patients, have an impact on the emotional expression ofboth indoor and outdoor space, while the privacy of personal space, in the field ofcomposition have a significant impact on patient mood. Outdoor environmental designand environmental psychology of the hospital need to consider the design of theoutdoor space, in order to better summarize the results based on the existing methodsfor hospital-based infrastructure: the applicability of the principles of safe, moderateenvironmental stimuli principle of non-strange environment principle, the principle ofpositive psychological suggestion, the principles of good personal space.
