In the process of producing, processing, transporting and storage of the productsin the industries of petroleum, chemistry and others, it might leak or spill out manykinds of flammable and explosive gases or volatile flammable liquid because of theneed in the producing or processing. If the gases or liquid mix with the air, it maycreate explosive mixtures which can cause fire, even more explosion. So the electricalapparatus used in this dangerous environment must be certificated by professionalorganization and explosion-proof.In this article, it introduces the difference between domestic and foreignexplosion-proof standards, and analyses different kinds of explosion-prooftype requirements and characteristics clearly. As an example, for the intrinsically safeexplosion-proof products, it summarizes the difference between national standard andinternational standard, and analyzes the trends in designing on explosion-proofproducts. Through a large number of practical tests, the using method and point ofdesigning on intrinsically safe explosion-proof products is summarized, and thedesign concept of domestic explosion-proof electrical equipment is improved.Research content: the design principle and application of a variety ofexplosion-proof electrical equipment is analyzed in brief. On the basis of the standardExplosive atmospheres-Part4: Equipment protection by intrinsic safety i, thedesign and application of intrinsically safe products is analyzed in focus. According tothe actual situation on the application of intrinsically safe explosion-proof products,the problem on designing should be resolved. The power supply part of intrinsicallysafe products is systematic studied, including of the design methods and test steps ofindependent and the external power supply. The problem on spark discharge in circuitis systematic studied, and the design and test steps of the resistivecircuit, inductive circuit and capacitive circuit are studied.The above research is applicable to all the intrinsically safe products. In thisarticle, the explosion-proof design of an intrinsic safety gas analyzer as an example,on the basis of the requirements discussed in this paper, the protection of intrinsically safe explosion-proof electrical equipments is systematic analyzed, and the designproblem of the intrinsic safety gas analyzer is resolved.
