With the development of smart grid and the advanced metering infrastructure ofAMI, traditional smart meters could not meet the management needs of the powersystem. So a new generation of intelligent low-voltage distribution terminal isproposed. The intelligent power distribution terminal replaces the traditional civilmeter. Based on AMI model, a3G mobile communication network access method isdeveloped. The method makes the bidirectional energy metering, power qualitymonitoring and power protection in one Networked Intelligent Low-voltageDistribution Terminal to provide a full range of power management, intelligentprotection and interactive control for the power users. Based on the real intelligentpower distribution terminal and Android platform, a system for intelligent distributionterminals is created which can provide software platform for system software.Based on the Android system, the application software platform adapts theoriented development system to meet the practical application of intelligent powerdistribution terminal requirements. Meanwhile, in order to meet the conditions of theintelligent distribution terminals without replacing hardware, remotely setup thesystem and update software can achieve functional expansion and power managementmode conversion. The universal support of the underlying hardware platform and thestandardized definitions of the upper Application Program Interface (API) areachieved in the application software platform. So the practical application ability ofthe application software platform is increased fundamentally.Based on the practical application background and basic working principle of theintelligent power distribution terminal application software platform, the standardapplication interface definition of energy metering function is achieved by Andoridsystem development technology.Through loading the driver module and building thesystem related functional architecture, the bi-directional energy metering and3Gremote communication are simulated which lay the foundation of the productizationof the terminal application software platform.
