A Study On Streetscape Transformation Of Sun Town, PuCheng County

With the increasing development of urbanization in our country, urbantransformation issue is becoming increasingly important. As an important part in thecityscape and unassailably plays a “key role” in the transforming process. Charm of acity depends heavily on the vitality of its streetscape as well as its regional features.Sun town as a key developing area in Shaanxi, which has a profound cultural heritage,custom and typical regional features. Systematic and detailed current analysis is theessential foundation for street transformation. In the process of transforming design,the cultural landscape of Sun town should be showed in its constructive element.While, in recent years, with the rapid urban construction and increasing rise in trafficflow, which leads to a dramatic decline in the quality of street public facilities, what’smore, a considerable amount of streetscape have been ruined losing its originallandscape, thus, which effected people’s living qualities. Now, people’s awarenesstoward environmental quality has been improved and enhanced with the continuousimprovement in economy and people’s living standard, therefore, the study ofstreetscape transformation is particularly important.Through analyzing the development of street environment in Sun town, andinvestigating the status quo of streetscape and the rooted causes, according to thedesign principal, study on its functional application in order to propose transformationplan on every factor of streetscape and afford reference to future transformationdesign.This article is based on the previous summary of the theoretical and practicalresearch achievements at home and abroad. By means of aiming at the streetscape ofSun town, this article is composed with three components: field research, theoreticalapplication and organizing the thoughts, which outline frame of the thesis, and put emphasis on following several factors.a. though field investigation and communicate with local people, combiningwith the literatures. To sum up the locational conditions, natural environment,historical and cultural background, regional features and historical development ofstreet environment and current problems as detailed as possible with the purpose oflaying foundation for transformation plan in the future.b. on the basis of deep field investigation and research about every factor thatforms streetscape, such as make detailed analysis on the current situation and mainproblems on the land formations, road transportation, greening landscape, publicfacilities, street constructions etc, in order to study and explore the causes and forconvince of future street transformation.c. by means of detailed analysis, research and summary to propose suitableprinciple for the street transformation of Sun town, according to its current streetscapeand existing problems. And based on this principle, propose transformation plantoward every factor that compose the streetscape of Sun town.
