Motor grader is a commonly used earthmoving construction machinery. The role ofhydraulic system for working device is to regulate the position and action of working devicesuch as shovel. There are three kinds of hydraulic systems for working device at present:double pump&double circuit system, single pump&flow divider system and LS system.There’re many qualitative description in China. But study and quantitative analysis of the3systems’ characteristics, properties, energy consumption and efficiency under differentworking condition are insufficient. This paper studies on the efficiency of the3systems toprovide some reference for system design. It has practical value for engineering.This paper studies on the forms, similarities and differences among the three systems. Itgets the influence rules to actuator by engine speed, flow area of multi-way valve and load. Italso conducts a theoretical analysis and comparison in different operating and workingconditions of the three systems by using the parameters and test data of a motor grader with160kW engine. The three systems’ AMESim simulation models are built to verify theprevious theoretical analysis, calculate and contrast the efficiency of every system in differentoperating and working conditions. Calculation results of every system in different operatingand working conditions show energy consumption and efficiency.Comparison and analysis results obtain relatively efficient operating and workingconditions. The results provide reference for components selection, hydraulic system designand improvement of motor grader.
