With the development of traffic and the increase of vehicle population, traffic accidentsincreased year by year, which has brought great harm to people’s production, life and safety.Fatigue driving is one of the main causes of traffic accidents; therefore, it is important to monitorthe driver fatigue state to avoid fatigue driving and reduce traffic accidents. This paper analyzesthe functional requirements of embedded car driver fatigue warning systems, using DSP coremicrocontroller ARM as the core processor, accomplishes the vehicle driver embedded fatiguewarning hardware system, develops the software combined with the UCOS-III embeddedreal-time operating system, which can be used as a reliable solution. The main contents are asfollows:1. The purpose and significance of the raised issues is described, fatigue examiningtechnology domestic and overseas for drivers is analyzed, mainly existing problems in the fieldare analyzed and raised methods to solve the problems.2. Embedded fatigue warning hardware system of drivers is established by using DSP coreof ARM microcontroller as the core processor. Physiological signal acquisition module, dataprocess module, data interface module of communication, graphical display and alarmingmodule are developed and own high-speed data processing ability and friendly human-computerinteraction function at the same time.3. Software system is developed based on the embedded real-time OS UCOS-III andUCGUI graphics file system. The application function of warning system were studied,transplant program, physiological signal acquisition and data application code of communicationare developed.4. Warning system’s main function modules are tested under the condition of indoor’ssimulation environment, the feasibility of the early proposed warning system is verified throughthe collected test analysis about pulse, heart rate, body temperature, and the steering wheel grip.
