Nowadays, square construction of a city begins to show the tendency ofregionality and culture. Theme of square and personality mould is quite important,especially for square of high-speed rail station. As a portal space, it is based onprecipitating of history, to make people in leisure know history context of a city, orenriching history with specific folk activity, enforcing people’s participation, in whichregional culture connotation of a city can be fully presented. Square of high-speed railstation is a fuse of all kinds of history and culture for a city, a place to reflect glamourand value of a city. People can carry on communication, business service, culturepropaganda and so on. Designers should integrate our culture characteristics over thousands of years intosquare design of high-speed rail station, based on people oriented, meeting function andfocusing on promoting urban topic. As portal space of a city, regional culture of squareof high-speed rail station is worth to study. As public activity centre, city square is notonly a focus collectively reflecting space of urban culture and architectural art, but alsoopen space reflecting modern urban civilization with artistic charm.Finally, this paper solves the problem by real case. Based on square of high-speedrail station in Taigu of Shanxi Province, this paper put research aim on depicting thedesign of square of high-speed rail station which reflects regional culture traits,extracting regional culture. Meeting functional need of square of high-speed rail station,our design focuses on regional history and culture, inhabitants, architecture and othernative traits, making Chinese high-speed rail with new regional culture, to offer Taigunew image not only with regards to local culture characteristics, but also sprite of thetime.
