According to China’s "twelfth five-year" highway development planning, by2015thenetwork of highway total mileage will reach140000km, among them the long tunnel aswell as the mountain tunnel construction are also on the rise. Highway tunnel lightingfund is the biggest project tunnel operating expenses, so the current research focus onthe study of tunnel lighting control and energy saving, and not too much to study theeffect of tunnel entrance light configuration for comfort. Based on the study ofinfluencing the tunnel entrances and exits of lighting, this paper will focus on thecombination of improving lighting comfort and tunnel lighting control.(1) Based on the constraint conditions, the total amount of lamps and layout havebeen identified, and the brightness of lamps is adjustable. It analyzed the tunnelentrances lighting configuration and hole brightness, traffic flows, and the relationshipbetween the speed of the car. What’s more it analyses the existing tunnel in our countrycommonly used high pressure sodium lamp light source and job characteristics.(2) It takes some time to calculate the traffic flow in the highway tunnel.Thelighting should be adapted in correspondence with the change of traffic flow. Therefore,I put forward a calculation method based on the Gray System Theory to predicte thetraffic flow in the highway tunnel in my paper. This method makes it possible topredicte the traffic flow and provides strategy of lighting allocation in advance, whichmakes the highway tunnel passageway lighting system be in good control. Moreover, onthe basis of this method, an updating data processing is provided, advancing the resultof prediction.(3) According to the analysis and study about the three factors influence on tunnellighting, export and entrance light configuration optimization strategy was proposed,learning and using neural network tool of MATLAB simulation experiment. Through the experimental about lighting configuration under different scenarios by simulation,and studies have shown that lighting configuration optimization strategy reduced thebright differences of the tunnel entrance; improved the driving comfort, also saved theenergy.(4)Tunnel lighting control system based on CAN bus is designed and completedthe tunnel lighting control system design, and the intelligent node of the hardware andsoftware implementation.
