| Because of highly economic growth and modernization progression, thesociety in Taiwan has developed a unique pattern of the changes that aredifferent from any other time in the past. This change has driven thedevelopments of other aspects of the society, thus established the foundation ofthe economic miracles in Taiwan. However, underneath the prosperousappearance, the problems from various levels gradually arise and impact thesociety directly. Among these problems, the education related issues alwaysattract the most attention and result in the development of new policies. Thechanges in school learning environment and classroom space re-allocation arealways the most popular topics on any discussions of the new education policies. This research focuses on the study of current regular classroom space utilization, uses Tai Tung Elementary School in Miaoli as an example, to explore the relatedtopics of the regular classroom space in Taiwan nowadays. In Chapter One, besides explaining the reasons that this research topic ischosen, the methods and the process of the research topic are illustrated. It is myhope that this research can provide actual and practical help in the Architecturaldesign industry. In Chapter Two, the explore on the related Building Act inTaiwan and theoretical basis is demonstrated. All of my research works arebased on the theoretical basis and are explored in fair, reasonable, and lawfulconsiderations. In Chapter Three, the actual information is collected andanalyzed. The school history and the physical environment of Tai TungElementary School in Miaoli are introduced; the collected information, including grade class schedules, the data for heights and weights of children, and the interview records of teachers and staff, is analyzed and compared. InChapter Four, the facts that affect the space are presented and analyzed. Thesefacts include the users of the classroom unit space, the arrangement of the desksand the chairs, and the existing facility and equipment. The collectedinformation after analyzed and compared in Chapter Three is systematicallyorganized with the facts that affect the classroom unit space. In Chapter Five, the induction and organization of the topic are conducted. Under the conditionof the given needed facility and equipment in the classroom space, the analysisfor qualitative and quantitative of the space is executed, and the design notesand suggested criterion are made, the proposal of the spatial configuration is putforward. The recognition and the implement possibility of the proposal areaccepted and obtained after the procedure of the verification. The last chapter,Chapter Six, the summary and the follow-up research topics conclude thisresearch project.Based on the various given classroom space factors and considerations, thisresearch finally determines that the classroom space design is based on thefunction of the classroom, adds the concept of Human behavior model as theevaluation tool for qualitative and quantitative, and therefore, establishes thestandardized design flow and meets the diverse needs of the classrooms, as wellas provides the practical suggestions and classroom spatial analysis to the futureclassroom unit space design planners. |
