| In recent years, more and more domestic enterprises are droved to participate inthe international project contracting by the rapid development of China’s contractforeign project and foreign investment. But these enterprises usually do not payenough attention to the logistics operation management in the internationalengineering project, which consider that they should only finish the internationaltransportation of engineering materials and equipments during the engineeringconstruction but fail to give full consideration in the project life cycle. As a result,international logistics cost remains high, which affect the overall level ofinternational project management to a certain extent and limit the pace ofdevelopment of international project contracting. Based on the situation above, thisthesis studied the logistics management approach of international engineeringproject from the whole life cycle perspective.Firstly, this thesis states the literature and works in the engineering projectmanagement at home and abroad and international logistics management in recentyears, which researches and analyzes the main characteristics and the operatingmode of project logistics management, the logistics management characteristics ofinternational engineering project and the logistics operation mode ofinternational engineering project from the perspective of full life cycle with thepresent situation and development trend of international engineering project inChina, the challenge and opportunity, the main operating characteristics ofinternational engineering project and its impact on logistics management;Meanwhile, according to the characteristics and needs of the different stages of theinternational project life cycle, the thesis designs the solution of logistics servicesfor the project period, provides the logistics operation management methods afterthe project’s beginning, running and ending, and then leads in the case study in orderto help Chinese enterprises to improve the logistics management level ofinternational engineering project, and enhance their international competitiveness.In this thesis, the thought and the management method of project managementare applied to logistics management in the international engineering project. And thethesis also puts the network diagram of project management and critical path analysisin the logistics service project’s design of project period, which supply the scientific and reliable analysis methods for the logistics operation management of internationalengineering project in the whole life cycle.Then in the logistics management of all stages of the project life cyclemanagement, it gives full consideration to the project scope management, schedulemanagement, risk management, quality management, document management,communication management and so on, to make the international engineering projectlogistics management more scientific comprehensive and reasonable.This thesis takes the Haldia2×300MW coal-fired power plant project’s logisticsmanagement in India as an example. From the logistics contractor perspective, itanalyzes and summarizes the logistics management in all stages of the project lifecycle and operation, which forms a complete set of logistics management system inthe international engineering project for international project managers and relatedresearch scholars reference. |
