What presented here is about the principle and performance of a kind of heat pumpwater heater using air and waste hot water as heat sources. It can be used to supply hotwater with temperature of40-50℃for shower by recovering the heat of waste hot watergenerated from family shower. It also can be used to supply local air conditioning byrecovering a part of air energy. In this heat pump water heater system, there are twoevaporators, i.e. a wastewater source evaporator (WE) and an air source evaporator (AE), torecover heat from waste hot water and air, respectively. Different to other heat pump waterheaters, the evaporators in the water heater system presented here are arranged in series sothat there is no need of any valve in the refrigerant pipeline.This paper mainly pays attention on the principle and theoretical performance of thisdual heat-source heat pump water heater system.by experiments or theoretically simulationand analysis of several typical stable operating conditions. This paper discusses theconditions including temperature alteration of waste water, temperature alteration ofcondensation and flowing alteration of waste water emphatically. System’s heating COPwould decline and the yield of heat water increase while the promoting of wastewater andtap water’temperature. With the promoting of condensation temperature, system’s COP andflowing of hot water would reduce. Enlarge of wastewater flowing lead to the enlarge ofheating COP and hot water’s flowing.This paper also establish the empirical model ofsmall errors. Simulation and analysis show that this dual heat-source heat pump waterheater has relatively stable and efficient performance, for example, when the temperaturesof waste water, tap water and supplied hot water are20-36℃,20-36℃and40-50℃,respectively, the coefficient of performance (COP) varies from4.5to6.8, and the flow rateof supplied hot water reaches above5L/min (8.3310-5m3/s). It can be seen that this waterheater system can meet the requirement of family shower, and it also has considerable efficiency of energy saving.And it takes a better economic performance than other waterheaters.
