The teaching area is the space carrier of rich college spiritual civilization, it undertakes the exchanges, promote ideological communication functions. As the core of the University City campus public space, time and culture teaching area with precipitation and development, along with the internal and external factors (School of Humanities and social science and technology, pattern, base, etc.) changes. The environmental design of public space of the teaching area should also exhibit space and form the update. We need to take a positive, dynamic planning guiding ideology, will focus attention on uninterrupted, sustainable planning process.This paper is divided into six parts:the first chapter puts forward the problem. On the research of domestic and foreign development status, research purpose and significance, and research contents, objects and methods of making generalization and definition. In the second chapter, we review and summarize the history of the development of Chinese University, reflect Chinese university teaching area of city public space environment design, put forward China University teaching area of city public space environment design principles. The third chapter discusses the teaching area public space environment design theory, carries on the analysis from the four aspects of the teaching building of the aesthetic rule, space, place, communication and space, so as to support the later chapters of the Guangzhou University City School District Environmental Design Evaluation and analysis.
