With development of economy and the acceleration of urbanization, roads jam severely in rush hours. As an effective way to alleviate the traffic pressure on the ground, metro has advantages such as great volume, punctuality, little influence from whether, and low energy consumption per capita. So, it gets the government’s attention and becomes the first choice to improve the traffic situation. But now lots of new lines are under construction or in operation, and the pressure from the operational aspects has become more obvious. Improving circulation efficiency of passenger flow, and respond to traffic congestion, guidance and evacuation, have become research hotspots.Today, almost every new metro lines are equipped with automatic train control (ATC) system. Passenger Information System (Passenger Information System, PIS), which is an important part of ATS, is oriented to passengers directly. PIS provides information to the passengers via display terminals in the plat or on board, and helps them enjoy high-quality services provided by metro safely, conveniently and quickly. PIS system have had a positive impact for the safe operation of metro system.What I mainly do in this paper, is to design a set of upper-computer control software for LED displays in PIS system, and to implement all functions by code. Specific work is as follows:1. By the means of reviewing literature and reading technical material of some PIS systems now, I understand the development of PIS system both at home and abroad, the main characteristics of PIS identifiers and where to use each kind of them. Then research status of passenger counseling and information dissemination are summarized;2, This paper describes the normal arrangement of PIS system, the main equipments and their role. Then it describes the hardware I use in this paper--LED display, its components and its technical parameters.it explains what the protocols with PIS or LED contain.3, The needs of the software are analyzed-extremely high robustness, because it is directly oriented to the public and tolerate no error. Even if meeting with an error, it can quickly return to normal in the absence of intervention; high ease of use, all functions are capable of operating at the interface form. After a simple training, operation staff can use it without any obstacle; intuition, all of the information is showed in the main form, and can be viewed with no additional operations; feature-rich, provides LED display debugging capabilities, and the function to display any text in special status;4,I design all modules and running processes of software, describe the functions of classes in details and list key code snippets. Then I implement all functions by C# individually, make installation package and release to construction company.5, The research does not stop after the software is published and put into use. Some new functions are continued to explore, which are not added to the released software because of no enough time, such as changing storage structure and adding privilege system.Results of this paper has been formed into products, released and used in a in-operation line of metro. Operational staff provide feedback that the software achieves all intended functions, is easy to use, and works well, meets with no abnormal condition. This software plays a positive role in the operation of stations and next researches..
