Study On The Status Quo And Promotion Strategies For The Urban Fringe Green Space In Beijing

With constant expansion of cities’ scales, urban fringe located in transition zone between cities and countries, becomes the direct action area of the city expansion in the process of urbanization. The urban fringeis adjacent to city center, which is a geographical advantage bringing much convenience for its development and also producing a series of environmental problems, such as pollution and regional function deficiency. As an importantentity space to mediate the problems, the urban fringe green space has high ecological values and social significance. And with improvement of economic and cultural level of cities, demands for the urban fringe green space are becoming more and more complex, which needs that the green space plays comprehensive and coordinated functions, such as ecological protection, leisure and connection. At present, the status quo of the urban fringe green space in Beijing cannot meet the dynamic development needs of the city and people’s expectation of the functions and benefits of the urban fringe green space. Therefore, optimization of the urban fringe green space in Beijing is urging.Firstly, theory system of the urban fringe green space in Beijing is reorganized meticulously in this thesis. By analyzing and summarizing the relevant concepts of the urban fringe green space at home and abroad, combined with the relevant contents of Beijing’s city planning and many existing researches, based on the status quo of the urban fringe green space in Beijing, the concept of the urban fringe green space in Beijing is determined, and its elements are analyzed, which mainly conclude continuous natural elements of large area, linear continuous elements, agricultural production elements and dispersed elements of artificial intervention. Then, advanced theories and practical resultsat home and abroad are analyzed and summarized, and improvement strategies applying for the urban fringe green space in Beijing are distilled. After that, by interpreting the relevant contents of Beijing’s upper planning, and researching the development process, characteristics and functionsof the urban fringe green space in Beijing, based on the construction situation, overall improvement principles and core strategies are proposed. Finally, combined with the development status quo of the northern region of Haidian Districtand relevant planning policy, necessity and urgency of its green space improvement is analyzed. And based on comprehensive field investigation and the collected data, the main existing regional problems are analyzed systematically. According to the structure and different elements of the green space of the northern region of Haidian District, the improvement strategies of perfection of regional green networks, construction of Country Parks, construction of greenways, development of urban agriculture and ecological restoration are put forward. Through these measures, the existing problems can be solved, and the development of the region and the city can be promoted.
