Demand Response (DR) plays an important role in developing smart grid and electricity market revolution. Just as suggested by Demand Response Research Center (DRRC) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory of America, reasonable demand response program is able to motivate consumers to save power. Demand Response may not only bring consumers economic effectiveness but also provide the power system new regulating resource to improve security and stability of operation.The foundamental condition of DR program is the participation and response of consumers. Firstly, it is necessary for consumers to exchange imformation with DR provider when consumers participate a DR program. In this thesis, the model of DR interoperation based on OpenADR2.0b is studied. Four-type of basic services, procedure of each service and payload in service interoperation are analysed. Secondly, the incentive measure would act only when consumers had response characteristic. This thesis studies evaluation method of demand response potential, cost-effectiveness of DR program participants and how to choose proper DR contract for participants. Targeting at three types of customer, namely residential facility, commercial building and industrial press, the DR strategy of interruptable electrical load and process is analysed. This paper summarizes the interim achievement and existing gap from aspects of the organization framework, experimental procedure and policy, and three key technologies are introduced to fix the exposed problems:a distributed DR Service interoperation model, a baseline algorithm based on regression analysis, and industrial DR simulation based on buffer inventory.Based on the development of demand response server and demand response terminal, set the smart grid client demand response simulation system, test the system in the pilot project in Shanghai. As the very first pilot project in China, the DR test program has been performed in Shanghai.In the end, assumption and outline for the next steps of Shanghai DR Pilot Project are proposed.
