At this stage, in order to cater to the needs of the economy, China is vigorously carry out highway expansion. As an integral part of the highway overpass renovation and expansion work has become a top priority. Interchange renovation and expansion factors are many, such as the environment, space and cost, etc., so the research Interchange Reconstruction program is very meaningful. After so many years of development, it has accumulated a wealth of experience in building interchange, for interchange construction put forward higher requirements.In this paper, in terms of the interchange expansion project design principles and factors, and transportation organizations were studied, analyzed, focusing on the interchange expansion plan. First, this paper introduces the research status of renovation and expansion, as a basic starting point, leads to some basic principles of the status quo and expansion overpass when, followed by field surveys, renovation and expansion of the interchange construction zone traffic characteristics and safety factors were analyzed by analysis of interoperability pilot operation area expansion, work area and vehicle operating characteristics, summarized the principles and programs of renovation and expansion of transportation organization, made a number of safety recommendations when operating.
