With the rapid development of our social economy and the speeding up of road traffic, parts of the city have already built multiple loop expressway to ease traffic pressure, the loop expressway which is connected with urban road, National and Provincial Highway and radiation high way, has a large transfer interchange with these Characteristics included: interchange entrances, vast circle area, high demands of the undertake and indicating information. Therefore, after part of the loop urban expressway finishing it’s construction and opening to the traffic, the direction sign setting presented some problems, such as, the overload information, the nonstandard setting of the inward and outward position, the unclear information objects. How to solve the above problems is the primary goal of the urban high road logo design’s development. The third ring road in Chengdu is facing the consistent loop expressway problems which directly let the drivers who is not familiar with the local road network missing the right destination which cause unnecessary economic loss and waste of time.Firstly through the analysis of third ring road network’s the environment and the composition of extension traffic, then combine the survey with the summary of the status of the road logo setting, this paper briefly pointed out the present problems of the road logo setting.On this basis, this paper have an optimization research for information content of the direction sign page,using the traffic safe driving simulate a platform which based on the simulation driver’s recognition degree of the page information and the driving operation’s response time under the condition of information difference in different layout,gather the experimental data to have a F test and correlation analysis;At the same time, this article set up a Vissim simulation for the distance of the premonitory warning signs on the third ring road exit to analyze driving behavior as soon as the drivers driving into the export of fast road, thus establish a theoretical calculation model for the setting distance of the fast road interchange exit’s premonitory warning sign. By comparison and simulation of the Vissim and according to the different distance setting cases of the AGS and the average delay time in the driving process of the off-ramp, finally this paper conclude a reasonable setting range of the premonitory warning signs of the fast road interchange exit.According to the survey data and the analysis of the experimental results, and combined with research experience of the direction sign at home and abroad, this paper put forward the management measures and improvements for the third direction sign setting.
