In recent years, the market share of railway freight transportation decrease continuously, the railway freight organization reform in china was officially launched in order to improve the quality and efficiency of railway freight transportation in June, 2013. As an important node of the railway network, the railway marshalling station affects directly the quality and efficiency of railway freight transportation at the same time. In this context the railway freight transportation put forward new requirements to the railway marshalling station work organization. Therefore in order to improve the adaptability of the railway marshalling station, the main research contents of this paper is to optimize the work organization of the railway marshalling station. At first the wagon flow organization on the railway marshalling station is optimized from three respects, including the angular traffic flow, the imbalanced transportation and the heavy haul transportation, the cause of angular traffic flow and its influence on railway marshalling station is analyzed, and three measures for handling are put forward. The cause of imbalanced transportation and its influence on railway marshalling station is researched, and five Solving Measures are put forward. At the same time in order to improve the ability of railway marshalling station to adapt to the heavy haul development trend of railway freight transportation, the two aspects of the arrival-departure track and shunting system of railway marshalling station is optimized, and the corresponding solutions are found.Next the tissue type transportation organization mode makes low efficiency of railway transportation in china now, the study of accumulation mode in railway marshalling station can promote the transformation of transportation organization mode. The railway high-value added scattered freight will be the railway freight volume growth center in the future, but the full-shaft assembly mode cannot meet the timeliness requirement for the railway high-value added scattered freight. The increase of railway traffic volume by virtue of the increase of the scale of railway network, the performance improvement of locomotive and rolling stock, the leaping development of information construction provide reliable technical support for the reform of accumulation mode. The change of the economic effect of using stable point assembly and the enormous social benefit are analyzed. The method that how the owing--axis goods train is attached operation is found. Finally the principles of placing-in and taking-out wagon operations in the railway marshalling station are described and the mode about the number of placing-in and taking-out wagon is established. The placing-in and taking-out sequence about non-through wagon flow on branch shaped sidings is optimized based on genetic algorithm, the simulation program by MATLAB is developed, and it designs a priority parameter about placing-in and taking-out wagon in the special line. The simulation program can simulate the genetic algorithm, it can meet the priority of placing-in and taking-out wagon in the special line, and it selects a path whose wagon-hour consumption is the smallest under the condition whose time is shortest form each genetic population, putouts the last selected path as the ideal placing-in and taking-out wagon sequence through the N generation of genetic. The placing-in and taking-out wagon sequence on actinoid private line is optimized based on genetic algorithm at the same time, the mode of placing-in and taking-out sequences is established, the simulation program by MATLAB is developed.
