Three-dimensional digital assembly process design is an emerging discipline in modern aviation digital manufacturing technology. In recent years, the position of digital assembly process design in the aircraft manufacturing industry continues to improve, digital assembly process design increasingly becoming the future development trend of three-dimensional aircraft assembly process design. It requires digital transmission of products information, process planning and simulation process visualization, process documentation vivid intuitive,thus shortening the aircraft product development cycle, reducing development costs and improving product quality. In this paper, a type of civilian aircraft left wing as the research object, product assembly process characteristics, digital assembly process planning and simulation, three-dimensional assembly process output of the aircraft are studied. The main contents include:details on structural features and assembly process characteristics of the overall aircraft and wing, the information and creation process of wing digital model are described; Multi-system digital integrated application environment based on DELIMIA process system is analysis,researching aircraft digital assembly process design technology based products digital module, achieving the assembly process planning under a single product data source and the left wing as the object is verified;Visualization assembly simulation from the child process node to the parent process node, and the assembly process planning interference checking and optimization are carried out;Guidance workers on-site operations through developing an interface program that generates vivid 3D process output file (three-dimensional AO).Through the implementation of digital aircraft assembly process planning and simulation to solve the information tedious, iterative problem in process planning, so that the process of planning becomes more rational and intuitive. All process planners will work on different nodes of the same technology platform to achieve collaborative design and parallel design of assembly process,improve production efficiency and reduce manufacturing cycle.
