Danjiangkou reservoir is the water source of the Middle Route Project for South-to-North Water Transfer, its importance cans be imagined。Water resource in the reservoir that undertake Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan the water requirements. So the water quality situation is about the livelihood of the people’s top priority, we must always ensure the quality safety of reservoir. Water pollution in China is an important factor affecting the safety of the current state of water.So, in order to better understand and grasp its hydrodynamic and water quality. At first, This paper introduces the domestic and foreign research progress of water quality model. The natural geographical conditions (including climate, vegetation, soil, etc.), storm, flood, runoff characteristics and water quality of water environment problems of the current of the Danjiangkou Reservoir are made in this paper. And the Danjiangkou Reservoir using a variety of methods to carry on the long-term runoff forecast, the forecast results are analysis and evaluation. After this article is based on EFDC model of Danjiangkou Reservoir numerical simulation model is set up, and respectively to simulate the water level, water temperature, chlorophyll a, algae, total nitrogen and total phosphorus, compared with the measured and simulated. The water level simulation and comparison between the effect is better, Error is only 38cm. Due to the Danjiangkou Reservoir is a large reservoir, so the simulated water temperature stratification phenomenon should be grasped, especially in summer is most obvious. Autumn there will be a vertical mixing effect, Stratification will diminish. In winter the water stratification disappear.When the water quality simulation, this paper chooses the chlorophyll a, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, algae the three commonly used indicators were studied. Danjiangkou Reservoir eutrophication degree is higher, Phosphorus become restrictive factors of algae growth, Danjiangkou Reservoir can take measures to control the total phosphorus concentration to limit the algae growth. The change trend of chlorophyll a concentration and total nitrogen instead. When total nitrogen increased, chlorophyll a concentration decreased.At the end of the paper briefly introduces the independent development of Danjiangkou Reservoir based on EFDC model three-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality model system, and modeling in Danjiangkou Reservoir area as an example and demonstration.
