Danjiangkou reservoir was the water source of the Middle Route Project of the South to North Water Transfer Project, and its reasonable operation plays a key role in ensuring the smooth implementation of the project. Reservoir was located in the upper reaches of Hanjiang River, acrossing Hubei and Henan Province, composed of Hanjiang reservoir and Danjiangkou reservoir, water from Hanjiang River and its tributary Danjiangkou, which has plenty of water and good water quality. When reservoir dam was heightened, normal water level increased from 157 m to 170 m, water storage capacity increased from 17.45 billion cubic meters to 29.05 billion cubic meters, which can provide 95 billion cubic meters north diversion water of. Area of the reservoir was nearly one thousand square kilometers, power station installed capacity of 1 million and 50 thousand kilowatts. Danjiangkou reservoir has comprehensive benefits including water supply, flood control, power generation, shipping, irrigation, aquaculture, tourism.Taking Danjiangkou reservoir as the research object, this paper mainly studies the following two aspects in order to make full use of the water resources of Danjiangkou reservoir:1. Danjiangkou reservoir optimal dispatching plan and the formulation of dispatching rules. Optimization scheduling models were established, the selfoptimization simulation method was developed to optimize the operation chart, after a lot of trial and simulation,optimal dispatching rules were determined. Finally, combined with the long series water data, the adjustable water quantity of Danjiangkou reservoir based on the scheduling and dispatching rules were calculated.2. Real time scheduling of Danjiangkou reservoir and real time joint operation of large and medium reservoirs in the upper and middle reaches of the Hanjiang River in Danjiangkou.The adjustable water quantity and the water supply quantity model of Danjiangkou reservoir were set up separately, the model was solved by the method of equal flow regulation calculation based on feedback correction; to establish the integrated benefit model of joint operation of Danjiangkou reservoir and its upstream reservoir, and to take into account the comprehensive benefit of water supply guarantee rate, and to solve the model by successive approximation method; finally, combined with the runoff forecast data and other related data, four models were verified by examples.The main conclusions of this paper were:1. The optimal dispatching chart of Danjiangkou reservoir was established by using the self-optimization simulation technology, and the water quantity of Danjiangkou reservoir was calculated by using the optimal dispatching chart. Using this optimal scheduling graph to simulate the calculation, the average annual water transfer amount of Danjiangkou reservoir was larger, and the water transfer process was more uniform.2. Based on runoff forecast and reservoir water storage condition, the operation dispatching rules of Danjiangkou reservoir based on runoff forecast and equal flow regulation were proposed,and applying the dispatching rules, the adjustable water quantity of Danjiangkou reservoir was calculated. Although the average annual water consumption of Danjiangkou reservoir was slightly decreased, the inter annual distribution of water transfer process was more uniform. From the point of view of the inter annual process of water transfer, the first year of the largest water transfer of Taocha Canal based on equal flow regulation scheduling rules was 11.345 billion cubic meters, which was less than the planning results 13.042 billion cubic meters, the most minor amount of water was 5.5851 billion cubic meters which was larger than the planning results 5.362 billion cubic meters. The variation coefficient of the water transfer process was smaller than that of the plan, which indicates that the water transfer process was more uniform. From the process of water transfer in the process of the year, the first water transfer process was a value in flood season and a value in non-flood season in most years; From the year of the largest water transfer process, there was no serrated fluctuations, which shows that the adjustment of water during the year, the process was more uniform.3. The uniformity of water transfer process was to be at the expense of a part of the amount of water, within a certain range, the more uniform of water transfer process, the less water transfer. The adjustable water quantity calculated by the optimized dispatching diagram was larger than that calculated by the optimized dispatching rules, however, the water transfer process using optimal dispatching rule was more uniform, and the water quantity was not frequent fluctuation.4. Considering the future Danjiangkou reservoir scheduling needs, it constructed the Danjiangkou Reservoir real time optimal separate scheduling model and the Danjiangkou reservoir and the upper reaches of the Hanjiang River cascade reservoirs joint operation model, and using the equal flow regulation method based on the feedback correction for solving single reservoir optimal scheduling model, and using successive approximation method to solving the joint scheduling model. Verified by examples, different scheduling models could meet different scheduling requirements, the calculation results accord with the model requirements, indicating that the model were correct and practical. Solving method was fast and reasonable. It could provide a scientific basis for the actual operation of the Danjiangkou reservoir.
