Excitation system is an important part of the generator, excitation system regulator control is safe and stable operation of power system and effective control strategy, with the rapid development of excitation system, the excitation system devices become increasingly complex, increasingly high degree of automation, the safety and reliability of generator excitation system devices are higher and higher, the traditional fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control technology is no longer suitable for generator excitation equipment of large complex, a kind of new technology of the intelligent fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control is to adapt to the modern equipment and development.This paper offers a comprehensive overview of the generator excitation system fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control theory and methods, introduces the dual microcomputer excitation regulator based fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control, the main contents include the dual microcomputer fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control of excitation system constitute principle, control strategy, hardware design, software design and hardware implementation of technology at the same time, the typical fault of generator excitation system for the hardware platform for experimental verification.First of all, the design of the fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control hardware framework of dual microcomputer excitation system, determine the DSP chip used TMS320F2810 model as the core microcomputer controller, make full use of DSP chip rich interface and the structure of the system requirements, with the peripheral interface circuit of every module of Protel system software design. Secondly, in view of dual microcomputer excitation control system software design of power unit, make full use of the general DSP chip input / output multiplexer, GPIO, CPU, X2810 interrupt system, timer event manager EV, D / a converter ADC, and the communication module on the dual microcomputer excitation system software system each module programming. Thirdly, the hardware platform of microcomputer excitation system, fault simulation of excitation fault types on the platform, and then on the basis of simplified peripheral circuit to improve the real-time fault detection. Finally, for the non disturbance switching assurance double microcomputer dual channel in fault when switching, using incremental PID control algorithm to complete the spare machine on the fault before the host data to follow, and the selection of CD4053 switch is a peripheral switching circuit based and designed fast switching of fault.The test results show that, the design of Double Microcomputer Control of the generator excitation system fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control based on fault detection, fault switching without disturbance to the system, to improve the excitation system of generator stability and reliability.
