It has been a hot issue that how to protect effectively and utilize reasonably urban lakes and urban lake wetlands during the process of rapid urbanization, As an effective way to put urban lakes and urban lake wetland resources to rational use,urban lake wetland park project starts relatively late and lacks of accumulated experience. Study on site suitability of Wuhan urban lake wetland park is indispensable to promote sustainable development of urban wetland parks. Building the site suitability evaluation model of Wuhan urban lake wetland park is aimed at providing a reference for location approach of urban lake wetland also providing a basis for siting type lakes in Wuhan wetland park project.In this paper, Wuhan urban lakes which is worth studying as a representative is the research object explored from their own factors, outside factors and a combination of factors through field research, literature analysis, expert advice and other methods, so that there sortes out seven major theories which are wetlands sustainable theory, wetland ecosystem health theory, the theory of ecological carrying capacity of wetlands, wetland restoration theory, landscape resources parity theory, the theory of urban planning and the theory of landscape, and there works out four basic principles which are scientific and systematic, comprehensive and dominant, non-compatibility, simplicity and operability. Then combined with the characteristics of Wuhan urban lakes and analytic hierarchy process,there is a site suitability evaluation index system of Wuhan urban lake wetland park build which has four criterion layers and 45 measurement indexs. In the same way, there works out evaluation criteria of each measure index which has five levels including excellent, good, fair, poor, bad. Moreover, experts get the weights of every indexes by judgement of “two-two”. It is worth mentioning that there are seventeen measurement indexs which have a great effect on site suitability of urban lake wetland park, which are wetlands environmental capacity, surface water quality trends, wetlands scale trends, water connectivity, water area and catchment area ratio,hydroperiod, surface water quality, soil environmental quality, natural degree, recreational comfort, the surrounding land development, population, conservation area and control area width, public transit accessibility, water supply and drought control ability, drainage and flood control ability, sewage treatment ability. Based on the site suitability evaluation model of Wuhan urban lake wetland park, there gets the comprehensive evaluation result that includes very suitable, more appropriate, barely fit, unfit five levels through weighted sum, and the corresponding score is 0.90, 0.70, 0.50, 0.30, 0.10. Waisha Lake, South Lake, Yezhi Lake and Yangchun Lake are applied to the evaluation model by the way of description of evaluation criteria and the last score is 0.5148, 0.4982, 0.5428, 0.5012. It was concluded that South Lake is not suitable for the urban lake wetland park, and Waisha Lake, Yezhi Lake and Yangchun Lake are suitable. Finally, there propose recommendations for improvement of these four lakes on the basis of the evaluation results for the type of urban wetland park lake siting standards and requirements.
