Road Spatial Dynamic Sight Distance Based On Driver’s Dynamic Perspective

Sight distance is not only an important index to ensure driving safety, but" also the important factors for the road’s safety evaluation and design.The sufficient sight distance is the reflection of road’s linear combination.Adequate sight distance makes the driver observe road barriers and the surrounding environment so that we can take various measures to ensure the traffic safety.At the time,the sight distance is a metric for driver’s dynamic visual.Therefore,it is very important to take driver’s visual characteristics into account when we study sight distance,the evaluation-of road traffic safety and road operating quality.The paper here proposed spatial dynamic sight distance based on driver’s dynamic visual characteristics and road’s space aligement fitting.How to describle driver’s visual characteristics reasonablely became important due to the complexity of the driver’s visual characteristics,By the study of a large number of literature analysis,this paper summed up driver’s visual physiological characteristics,vision filed, gaze rests, fixation time and so on.The article used B-spline curve to fit road’s three-dimensional alignment by MATLAB software.According to the combination of road alignment with driver’s dynamic visual characteristics,the article built a model of road’s spatial dynamic sight distance based on the driver’s visual characteristics and write algorithms by MATLAB.Taking the testing highway for example, The paper calculated the spatial dynamics sight value of every point on highway based on design speed and prediction speed respectively with the models of three-dimensional curve fitting and spatial dynamic sight distance,evaluated the safety of each section of highway,analyzed the reasons for poor sight distance sections of highway,and then proposed.relevant solution measurements.
