Ball screw mechanism can achieve relative motion of the screw and nut with the ball as the rolling elements. Because of its high positioning accuracy, high transmission efficiency, high abrasion resistance, high plasticity, synchronization performance advantages, ball screw is widely used in linear CNC machine tools, robotics, precision measuring instruments and automation equipment as drive execution unit. With the rapid development of equipment manufacturing industry, ball screw is used as an actuator, its accuracy directly affects the positioning accuracy of the mechanical sector,and precision and stability of ball screw is raising higher and higher requirements.In this paper, the dynamics theoretical,kinematics analysis, finite element software and simulation software ADAMS are applied. With the analysis of Finite element simulation and multi-body dynamics simulation, we research the stress and motion characteristics of balls in the bearing zone of ball screw of non-gothic ellipse raceway,and analyze the influence of dynamic performance on cross section shape of the raceway of the ball screw mechanism.The study includes the following:1) Analyze the movement characteristics of the ball in the ball screw bearing raceway. Elaborate mechanism of ball slip and ball wedge. Derive the ball slipping speed in carrying raceway of ball screw.2) Take advantage of the finite element theory, finite element model of the ball screw mechanism is simplified. Establish Gothic Ellipse raceway ball screw models and non-Gothic ellipse raceway ball screw models.Under the same axial load, compare the sliding distance of balls.3) Take advantage of multi-body dynamics software ADAMS, the simulation models Gothic raceway and non-Gothic Ellipse raceway ball screw models are established. Analyze the influence of cross section shape of the raceway on dynamic performance of the ball screw mechanism.4) Describe the methods to assess smoothness of the ball screw mechanism. With frequency characteristic values of vibration signal, analyzing the influence of cross section shape of the raceway on dynamic performance of the ball screw mechanism when spiral raceway is worn. And provide a reference for fault diagnosis.This study has a certain reference theoretical value and significance to improve the performance of ball screw and to raise the design level of domestic ball screw.
