Compared with the traditional strengthening methods, attach ed with FRP reinforcement method is simple in construction, and the advantages of the reinforcement effect is obvious. Compared with other fibers, BFRP is a new kind of environmental protection material, its tensile strength is closed to the CFRP. The elastic modulus of BFRP is a bit poor than CFRP, but its price is only one five of it. At present, most studies of BFRP concrete column is still at the experimental stage, mainly through the experimental data fitting analysis. But experimental study need much money, spend large manpower and material resources, and many results are difficult to get through tests, so it is necessary to test again by finite element method of BFRP reinforced concrete column. The main contents and achievements of this paper are summ arized as following:Through 16 different groups of concrete columns, the test on the BFRP confined concrete columns performance under axial loads, the deformation and failure process of the BFRP confined concrete columns has been studied. Analyses the size and the layer number of the BFRP reinforced concrete column on cylinder strength and the influence of stress and strain. Based on the data from tests, the stress-strain full curves of the specimens comes out. The experimental results showed that, the ult imate bearing capacity of the cylinder specimen increased with the increase of the layer number of the BFRP, but do not increase linearly. And by using the classic Lam and Teng model, the test values are compared with those of the model prediction, find th e value and the error of predicted value at an acceptable range, which also proved the correctness of the test methods and results.Based on the software ANSYS, the BFRP confined concrete columns are studied by numerical simulation analysis. The study found that the simulated value is good agreement with the test results, when selecting the correct finite element model can well simulate the loading characteristics of BFRP confined concrete column. On the basis of experiments, increasing the layer number of the BFRP, from the ultimate bearing capacity enhancement degree and the economical two aspects to analysis, found the optimal BFRP reinforced concrete column with reinforcement layers, can provide technical reference for concrete structure reinforcement engineering.
