While Chongqing’s present Straddle-Type Monorail vehicle operating, the uneven wear of its running tire is occurring. The paper focuses on the problem, and further studies the uneven wear of the running tire by using the finite elements software ABAQUS, which targeted with the contact conditions of the running tire and rail surface.① Considering the material, geometry and contact nonlinear of the running tire, the author in the dissertation employs Mooney-Rivlin constitutive model in the simulation of rubber material and stiffener model in the emulation of the belted layer and cord layer. By comparing the calculation results of the running tire finite element model’s radial direction, tangential direction and lateral rigidity with experimental data which the tire manufacture company provides, the accuracy of the finite element model for the running tire and rail surface is verified.② The stress distribution and deformation rule of the inflated running tire are analyzed. Through analysis, it is concluded that the stress value in the belted layer is maximum, which followed by that in the steel rim; there is the biggest deformation of the rubber in the side wall, and a smaller one on the tread. The analysis of wheel-rail contact status of running tire under different vertical loads is conducted. The result shows that the greater the vertical loads are and the larger the wheel-rail contact area is, the more seriously the tires wear.③ The analyses of running wheel tire on its wheel-rail contact status before and after wear under the operating conditions like acceleration or braking, lateral deviation and roll, and on its distribution law of wear height of tread pitch point show that the polygonal wear under the acceleration or braking conditions and uneven wear under lateral deviation and roll conditions are happened to the tire, and the severity of wear is enhanced with the increasing of the sideslip and roll angle.④ By using and simulation analysis of the dynamic model of Straddle-Type Monorail vehicle, the interaction between running tire and rail surface under the operating conditions of driving on different winding roads is obtained. The analyses of running tire on its wheel-rail contact status before and after wear with different curve radius and speed and on its distribution law of the wear height are preceded. By the reference of the research findings of the automobile tire uneven wear mechanism, the uneven wear mechanism of running tire of Straddle-Type Monorail vehicle is discussed. The results are much consistent with the facts, which have directive significance to the follow-up study.
