Study On Chongqing Urban Cultural Landscape Image-building

The appearance of city is a symbol that human beings become mature and civil, and a product that culture develops to some degree. As the material expression of city culture, city cultural landscape is influenced by many factors when it forms and develops. Its development, as usual, is a process that city types become richer. Therefore, culture is indispensable when city cultural landscape is developing. With the deepening of reform and opening up, cities of China change rapidly such as the city landscape. At the same time, the scale of cities is enlarging. Also, foreign culture and modern technology bring a shock to those long-history cities which lose city culture gradually. This impedes the continuity and succession of city culture. It’s also a great difficult that city cultural landscape will encounter.This study is based on the existing research and uses public relations, human geography, landscape ecology, cultural heritage, and organization image to connect theory research with practical survey. From citizen’s view, this essay goes through a study about city cultural landscape. And through practical survey and interviews with local people, it analyzes those representative cultural landscapes. As for citizen’s cognition towards Chongqing city cultural landscape, it concludes the main types and tries to explore image-building from citizen’s aspect.The research contents of this paper are mainly embodied in the following aspects:First, it has a background analysis of city cultural landscape problems and summarizes relative researches both from home and abroad. Also, it comments on those existing researches and introduces research methods that this essay has used.Next, it sums up the basic types of Chongqing urban cultural landscape. There is a conclusion about Chongqing’s regional culture, too.Then, it put an emphasis on the analysis and discussion towards cognition of Chongqing’s city cultural landscape and has a consequence of cognition as well as the main types of cultural landscape.Finally, it studies the image-building of Chongqing’s city cultural landscape, explaining its value and principles. Through the construction of image positioning and visual image system, it provides reference to the image-design practice of Chongqing’s city cultural landscape.
