| In China, as the high-speed railway with different speeds differs in the requirements of power supply reliability and protection selectivity, there are two kinds of wiring corresponding to the railway with the speed of 350km/h and 250 km/h. Since design institutes and operating companies have their own thoughts, which make the operation mode and protection method very different based on the two kinds of wiring, and it is a need to unify the standard. So it is very important to analyze the different operation modes and the protection configurations and protection settings under each mode, finally, concluding the reasonable protection setting principle, which is significant for the development of high-speed railway.In this paper, the specific forms, characteristics, applicable scale of two kinds of wiring are analyzed, based on which, the protection principle, protection setting calculation method, advantages and disadvantages of transformer protection and feeder protection are analyzed. For different kinds of wiring and operation modes, transformer protection and feeder protection scheme is chosen suitablely; the performance of protection configuration and setting under different kinds of wiring and different operation modes in high-speed railway traction power supply system is verified.There are two methods used in the relay setting calculation which are setting value coverage and setting value adjustments. As the transformer protection is set by its own parameters and the line structure and fault condition of feeder protection differs quite a lot in the normal operation mode and cross-area power supply mode, in this paper, setting value coverage is chosen in the transformer protection while the setting value adjustments is used in the feeder operation. Through theory and simulation test, the four characteristics of transformer and feeder protection can be unified.In the end, according to the actual parameters of a high-speed railway, protection setting values of the traction power supply system are calculated. Based on PSCAD/EMTDCDA, the complete traction power supply system and its fault modules, protection modules are built, which can evaluate the correctness of protection configuration and protection setting. |
