Cultural Study On Architectural Art Of Residential Buildings In Liaocheng

Liaocheng has a long history with regional culture characteristics of multi-cultural assimilation. Due to the fact that Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs north to south, it has become one of the important wharves of the section of Grand Canal in Shandong Province. Economy of Liaocheng is booming and Liaocheng also has gradually become a relatively developed commercial city. What’s more, due to the convenience of the canal, businessmen from all over the world have gathered here. The traditional Qi Lu culture in Liaocheng region and cultures from all over the country blend one another. Therefore, traditional residential buildings with different styles and specialties are formed. Through referring to data from various aspects and method of combining the multi-directional investigation conducted in various counties and cities with systematic analysis, this paper illustrates local cultural background, types and spatial forms of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng, analyzes and explores the decorative art of these buildings. Finally, this paper makes analysis of and outlook for sustainable development of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng. Based on environmental factors in Liaocheng region, including geographic area, location, environment characteristics of physioclimate, regional culture background, etc., this paper analyzes and researches the types and development of cultural characteristics of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng region. Besides, this paper researches a series of contents such as formation condition, reason for existence, influence on residential housing today and in the future, which aims at local Shanxi residential buildings that is fairly distinctive, Hui-style residential buildings and authentic local residential buildings. Based on the above study, this paper divides, analyzes and researches the traditional types of residential buildings in major direction. The traditional types of residential buildings in Liaocheng region are divided into residential compound house, commercial shop house, public buildings and religious building houses. In addition, this paper compares them with each other to analyze and makes a chart to summarize. Through analysis of and research on spatial forms of various types of traditional residential buildings, this paper analyzes the decorative art of various structures of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng region, mainly focusing on artistic analysis of the unique components of residential building structures, then concludes the techniques of expression for the building decorative art and further researches the furniture furnishing and the local folk decorative art. Based on the research on and analysis of regional culture background of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng, architectonic beauty which gestates reason as well as decorative art of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng, this paper makes some thinking on sustainable development for traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng. This thinking includes the problems met during process of evolving of traditional residential buildings, the reason for the damage of the traditional residential buildings and its prospect of the development. This paper puts emphasis on the continuation for architectural art culture of traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng region, which has critical effect on creating modern architectural design. Meanwhile, it also has important impact on the protection for material and non-material cultural heritage, economic prosperity and tourism development. As for the protection for traditional residential buildings in Liaocheng region, people’s awareness and cohesive force will also be strengthened.
