As important carrying members, the tube lugs are extremely important for the entire global hoisting project. With the development of economy and society, calculation methods of tube lugs are from material mechanical calculation methods combined with experience to the finite element methods. But in the finite element calculation of tube lugs, designers often need to repeat the process of "Design-Model-Calculation-modify the design-remodel recalculation", which causes a lot of repetitive work. In addition, with the extensive use of non-standard lugs, diversity of tube lugs increases the workload of material mechanical calculation and finite element analysis, which makes the design cycle extended and design efficiency low.In this paper, tube lugs are studied and the mechanical analysis of lifting process and dangerous conditions of tube lugs are finished. Design standard is referenced to refine the material mechanical calculation method and conducted finite element analysis. In addition, the local stress of tube lugs in lifting process is discussed. Ultimately, two calculation results including material mechanical calculation and finite element analysis are offered, which make results more reliable. To solve the problems of design efficiency, the paper is based on parametric design ideas and from the practical application of engineering, using ANSYS parameter language APDL and VC software system development function, complete parametric modeling and analysis of tube lugs, especially the non-standard lugs, and achieve finite element automatic calculation eventually. Development tool of the software is VC and the software uses a database to match, then outputs the text, and ultimately packages the entire software. The main content of paper is as follows:(1) Conduct the mechanical analysis for lifting conditions and specific model of tube lugs. Relative to the conservative calculation of standard, the effect of the inner ribs is considered on lugs structure and the effect of shear stress is considered according to strength theory on stress calculation. In addition, the local stress calculation methods are compared, and refine mechanical calculation of tube lugs in standard.(2) Conduct finite element analysis by simplifying mechanical model of tube lugs. Compare concentrated force loads and sinusoidal radial force load.(3) In order to achieve design efficient, accurate and economical and based on APDL, tube lugs parametric modeling and finite element calculation are achieved eventually by extracting characteristic parameters reasonably, comparing and selecting two unit types include shell 63 and solid 45, and applying sinusoidal radial force load.(4) Use VC to package the software, and achieved mechanical calculations and finite element calculations of tube lugs automatic. In addition, the use of the software is introduced and a practical numerical example is provided, which verified the reliability of the results.
