The Renovation Of Railway Station In Urban Matrix Of China

The generation of Chinese railway is along with the modern humiliation history of being invaded. After the founding of New China, Chinese railway industry embarked on an independent path of development. Due to vast territory and large population, the rail transport has been a very important economic lifeline of the country. Over the past decade, with the rapid development of China’s economy, the railway has entered a new period of rapid development. The generation of normal-speed, high-speed, and intercity transport system and rapid growth in passenger traffic, etc lead to current problems of railway transport. How to make the city’s train station adapt to new social environment and needs becomes a major problem currently faced by the construction of railway.The research objects of this paper are central railway stations of cities. The paper discussed the history of the development and course of the transformation, meanwhile, analyzed domestic and foreign cases and proposed adaptive transformation strategy. The purpose is to provide methodological guidance for similar cases.Paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter studied the basic theory and practice of the study subjects, described the research background and current problems, and reviewed the relevant research at home and abroad. The second chapter reviewed the process of railway generation and development and described the research background.Then are the core chapters of this paper. The third chapter reviewed the evolution process of the city central railway station by collecting the relevant literatures and discussed the evolution process respectively, from the urban location, policies and regulations, and the three elements of railway station (Station Square, the station and the station house).Chapter four and five according to the problems faced currently, by analyzing the domestic and foreign transformation cases, summed up China’s city central railway station renovation design strategies, taking Xi’an Railway Station renovation project, for example, to verify the theory.
