Immersed tube tunnel engineering gradually developed from the beginning of last century, a large across the water transportation engineering, immersed tube tunnel is made up of several precast pipe joint, float into the scene respectively, one after another to sink installation, should be connected to each other and correct positioning to the underwater has within the underwater trench excavation, followed by related engineering construction, make combination these socket connection on both ends of the water road traffic tunnel type transportation carrier.According to the environment of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao brige, this paper designs the corresponding immersed tube tunnel. In order to consign it to the designed area, three plans are designed. At the same time, the drag force of each plan should be calculated so that the ships could be arranged. "Guidelines for Towage at sea", "Design and Construction Code for Gravity Quay" and the software AQWA are chosen to conduct the computation and comparison. One of the plans which sufferes the smallest drag force is chosen the best one for the calculation in the rear.The influences on the drag force by different freeboards, towing speeds, incident wave and current directions are studied in the paper.We find that the drag force is not affected much by the value of freebord, and the drag force and the towing speed are in the quadratic relationship and increase dramatically following the increase of towing speed. The wave resistance force is in the quadratic relationship of wave height and is influenced by the towing speed. The incident wave and current direction are also effect the drag force. This paper shows a recommended proposal of towing in the sea which can be used for reference in the actual situation.
