The immersed tube tunnel (ITT) of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is the first offshore deep immersed tunnel in China, consisted of 33 elements and a final joint. The contract schedule is 36 months. Tugging and immersing is the critical process in ITT project, in order to meet the deadline of the contract schedule, the average speed of installation is supposed to be one element per month. Because the process and expect of tugging and immersing of ITT element is numerous, the operation window of tugging and immersing is rare, so that the schedule control of tugging and immersing of ITT element is particularly difficult. As the first offshore immersed tube tunnel in China, there is no successful experience can be learned in schedule control. It is the key and difficult point in this project management that how the limited resources can be used to fulfill tugging and immersing of ITT element within contract schedule. The paper gets started on this occasion.This paper compiles a construction progress chart of tugging and immersing of ITT element of HZMB by using the network technology, deploys resources, proposes procedures, methods and safeguard measure of planning and control. And the theoretical results applies to tugging and immersing of ITT element, the plan is adjusted. Specific work as follows:1. The thesis starts with contract schedule, analyzes the features, difficulties and risks of tugging and immersing of ITT element of HZMB project, formulates the overall objectives, schedule objectives and schedule plan of construction program. Firstly, the operation task of tugging and immersing of ITT element is decomposed, and then the schedule of each operation task is estimated. At last, this paper analyzes the controlling conditions as a basis for the preparation of a construction schedule control plan., such as logical relationship between the various work tasks, the importance of resource consumption and risk levels. This paper develops a construction schedule plan that conforms to the overall schedule of the contract period and the node schedule by adjusting the control plan of the construction progress according to the network technology.2. The thesis carries out the research of resources of tugging and immersing of ITT and deploys the ship, machine, personnel, materials that the project requires, according to the construction schedule plan that has been made.3.The schedule control target is decomposed, and schedule control procedures, organization and control methods are developed,and he primary measures of project schedule control are formulated. The theoretical results applies to tugging and immersing of ITT element of HZMB, and according to the emerging problems when the plan is executed, article author analyzes the reasons and develops improvements by the use of planning and control methods. In order to meet the schedule requirements of the construction, construction schedule plan has been adjusted and a new schedule plan has been made.The thesis notes that there were 17 steps in the tugging and immersing of ITT element, but they can decrease to 4 steps by the use of parallel working methods according to the network planning technology. When schedule deviation appears, some measurements can be used to adjust it,such as adjusting the network plans, increasing the allocation of resources, strengthening technological research and organizational guarantee.
