The vehicle commander’s panoramic sight platform is an important component of the tank fire control system, this functions in one device has many applications such as simulation awareness on battlefield, laser rangefinder, aiming in visible range and observing/aiming in night vision. The precise optical system fabrication and alignment of vehicle panoramic sight platform is a key factor to realize these applications. This paper is based on an infrared vehicle panoramic sight platform. Combined with the former experiences about fabrication and alignment of optical system, many key technologies of the system are studied by theoretic analysis and engineering practice in this paper. Also, in this paper, the method of fabricating, aligning and testing the vehicle commander’s panoramic sight platform has been determined. By studying adjustment of optical parallax, adjustment of image rotation elimination optical system, alignment of centering locating of lens fabrication, collimation and test of multiple-spectra/multiple axis system, and adhesion of reflectors, this paper analysed the influence factor and error of fabrication/alignment and confirmed the methods of fabricating, aligning and testing.By studying this project, the technical indicators of production has been optimized. On the other hand, the greatly improvement the optical feature, image quality, and parallelism of axis will lead to the progress of the method of the platform’s fabricating, aligning and testing. The productions arc critically examined and proved the methods mentioned in this paper are reliable.
