Mirror stabilization is realized in the optical system where one of the mirrors is stabilized in parallel optical path to make the line-of-sight (LOS) always consistent with the axis of the gyro, thus to attain inertial spatial stabilization. The mirror stabilization unit is widely used in electro-optical stabilization and aiming systems on tanks and submarines due to the small volume of the exposed part of the system and light weight of the payload.Mirror stabilization and platform stabilization technology, it is basic same from the control principle and control the way, but difference between:the 2:1 transmission mechanism. It’s purpose to eliminate the two times between the mirror turned angle with the line of sight and realize the line of sight stabilization. This paper around 2:1 transmission mechanism on research work. Focus the steel belt type and swinging rod type 2:1 transmission mechanism on the most widely used at present research.This paper firstly introduces the background and present application status of the research subject at home and abroad, elaborates the principles and solutions of mirror stabilization technology normally used at home and abroad, analyses the influencing factors of the upper mirror stabilization accuracy and investigates the effects of the 2:1 transmission mechanism to stabilization. In studying the dynamics equation of the mirror, from the kinematics of the mirror, two forms of the transmission mechanisms are mainly analyzed: swinging rod and steel belt transmission. The dynamics equations are established, the limiting factors of the mirror stabilization are analyzed and the measures of eliminating these factors are put forward. In order to validate the influence of the mechanical resonance to the mirror stabilization, the mirror stabilization system of steel-belt 2:1 transmission mechanism is compared to that of swinging rod type 2:1 transmission mechanism.Therefore, this thesis research on issues related to 2:1 transmission mechanism in the upper mirror stabilization system, has the very strong guiding significance and practical value.
